Cabbage Rice Bowl is super easy to make and comes together in just a few minutes, making it the ideal meal for any time of the day.
CABBAGE RICE BOWL (1 serving)
Ingredients:
- 4.9 oz (140g) green cabbage (about 2 cups)
- 2 green onions
- 1 strip uncooked bacon (60g)
- 1 tbsp neutral-tasting oil
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tbsp oyster sauce (or soy sauce / kosher salt to taste)
- Black pepper, to taste
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup (210g) steamed rice
- Generous pinch of toasted sesame seeds, to garnish
Instructions:
1. Slice the cabbage (about 2 cups), not too thin, not too thick. Thinly slice the green onions and bacon.
2. In a pan over medium heat, add the oil (1 tbsp) and bacon. Cook for 1 minute.
3. Add the minced garlic and green onions (Save for garnish). Saute for 1 minute or until fragrant.
4. Add the cabbage, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and black pepper to taste. Stir-fry it for 2 minutes or until the cabbage is cooked through but still crunchy.
5. Using a spatula, make a little space in the middle. Into that empty space, crack an egg and cook to your liking. Add more oil if needed.
6. To serve, put some rice into a bowl. Top with the cabbage and egg. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds. Enjoy~!
