Hello from Seoul! Today, we will show you all you can eat shrimp restaurant in Seoul. You can eat various shrimp dishes! Follow us!
Where to Eat
The name of this restaurant is 이가(I-ga). You can get here from Seoul national university station(서울대입구, exit number 7) and the detailed address is on the bottom of this page, so please go check it!
Here, you can have 5 types of shrimp dishes, such as steamed shrimps with beef and veggies(seiromushi 편백찜), salt-roasted shrimp bbq, deep-fried shrimps, soy sauce marinated raw shrimps with rice and shrimp ramyeon. There are so many dishes, so just listing the name of this food is quite hard. You can eat all of these for 2 hours!!
The Price
The price can be different depending on the number of people.
– 2 people 19.50 / per person -3 people 17.80 / per person -4 people 16.20 / per person
We should bring four people here, right? But, unfortunately, only two of us are here today, so we’ll have to pay for 19.50 per person!
The price of shrimps is quite expensive here in Korea. To be honest, I still can’t believe that we can eat 5 types of shrimps for less than $20. It is even unlimited!
Shrimps with Beef and Veggies (Seiromushi 편백찜)
This Seiromushi has to be steamed for 15 minutes, so that is why there is a timer on it. Inside, there are shrimps, sliced beef, mushrooms, and some vegetables.
If it is done, you can dip it into the sauce and eat it all together! Even before I taste it, I can guess what it tastes like.
One of the great things about this restaurant is that shrimp and meat can be refilled even if you didn’t finish the vegetables, so DO NOT fill your stomach with vegetables! Focus on the shrimps! That is the reason why we are here!
Salt-roasted Shrimp BBQ (새우 소금구이)
This is the most lovable way to cook shrimps by Koreans. Do you wonder why there is salt under the shrimps?
It is because the salt keeps them moist and not to burn. This is an amazingly good way to cook shrimps!
Normally, we put live shrimps in the hot pan but some people feel uncomfortable when the shrimps started moving around in the pan. I have never thought that way before some people say it is cruel, but now I sort of agree with that but this is a kind of traditional way to cook shrimps because Korean people believe that live shrimps are much fresher. However, live shrimps are a lot more expensive, right? So, this restaurant serves it only once!
Deep-fried Shrimp (새우 튀김)
This is one of our favorites! It is very crispy and tasty. However, it is not fancy fries with frying batter like fancy Japanese restaurant-style shrimps. It is more like fries from fish markets that you can have at a very reasonable price.
Soy Sauce Marinated Shrimps (간장 새우밥)
This is the one that I was looking forward to the most. The presentation is quite fancy and if they put this on their menu, I think we need to pay more than 10 bucks just for this dish. This is so pretty!
You may not be familiar with this soy sauce shrimps. Easy to say, this is a shrimp version of soy sauce marinated raw crabs(간장 게장). Unlike soy sauce crabs, it does not have a lot of fishy taste, so people who don’t like the fishy taste, can handle this!
This soy sauce shrimp is quite expensive food here in Korea, so if you visit here, eat as much as you can. This is the best so far!
It has a very pleasant sweet and salty flavor and amazingly bouncy texture. It is not mushy at all.
Shrimp Ramyeon (새우 라면)
Lastly, we’ve got shrimp ramyeon. Unlike Claire, I like to put a lot of stuff in Ramyeon such as kimchi, dumplings and green onions because that way, it does not taste like instant food.
With shrimps in it, it is more like spicy seafood noodles soup. It looks pretty good, too. Although I know I should not fill my belly with this ramyeon, I cannot stop eating it 🙂
Today we had many types of shrimps. What was your favorite? If you are a big fan of shrimps, this place is worth a visit. Alright, this is it for today, and we will see you next time! Bye!
