Let me guess. You bought an AIR FRYER because you heard it’s amazing. But you only use it for heating up some frozen foods? If that’s your story, you came to the right place. Today, let me change your air fryer into a magic cooking pot. Alright, are you guys ready? Let’s get started!
Green Onion Bread
Ingredients:
- 2-3 green onions
- 1 oz (30g) unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp sugar
- small pinch of salt
- 1 hard roll (or any bread)
- 1 cup shredded cheese
Instructions:
1. Thinly slice the green onions.
2. Microwave the butter for about 30 seconds. In a small container, mix together the melted butter, sugar, a pinch of salt, and green onions.
3. Slice the bread. Cut all the way around leaving the bottom about a half-inch.
4. Add a good amount of green onion spread and shredded cheese in between the slices.
5. Add in the air fryer. Cook at 180℃ (355℉) for about 7-10 minutes. Enjoy~!
Sotteok Sotteok
Ingredients:
- 3 bamboo skewers
- 9 Korean rice cakes
- 9 sausages
- cooking spray
- toasted sesame seeds (optional), to garnish
- parsley flakes (optional), to garnish
Sauce:
- 1 tbsp Korean chili paste (gochujang)
- 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 3 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tbsp light corn syrup
Instructions:
1. Soak the bamboo skewers in some water if you don’t want to burn your house down.
2. Soak the rice cakes in hot water for about 10 minutes or until they get soft. Pat dry with paper towels.
3. In a small container, mix together Korean chili paste, soy sauce, oyster sauce, ketchup, sugar, minced garlic, and corn syrup.
4. Skewer the rice cakes and sausages, one by one.
5. Wrap handles with foil. (optional) Place the skewers in the air fryer and spray both sides with cooking spray. Cook at 180℃ (355℉) for about 7 minutes.
6. Brush both sides with the sauce. Cook for another 3 minutes. Garnish with sesame seeds and parsley flakes. Enjoy~!
Garlic Butter Shrimp (1 serving)
Ingredients:
- 9-12 frozen shrimp
- 10 cloves garlic, divided
- parsley flakes, to garnish
- lemon wedges, to serve
Sauce:
- 3 tbsp (42g) melted unsalted butter
- minced garlic
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/2 tbsp fish sauce
Instructions:
1. Depending on the size, defrost 9 to 12 shrimp in cold water. (FYI, I used 12 shrimp.) Thoroughly pat dry with paper towels.
2. Smash 8 cloves of garlic and finely mince it. Slice 2 cloves of garlic.
3. In a small container, mix together the melted butter, minced garlic, salt and pepper, and fish sauce.
4. Add half of the sauce and shrimp into an oven-safe container. Pour the rest of the sauce and stir together so that the shrimp can be thoroughly coated. Cook at 180℃ (355℉) for about 10 minutes.
5. Turn them over and add the sliced garlic. Let them cook for another 7 minutes.
6. Garnish it with some parsley flakes and lemon wedges. Serve with hot rice or bread. Enjoy~!
Korean-Style Pork Ribs (2 servings)
Ingredients:
- 1.3 lb (600g) baby back ribs
- 1 green onion (optional), to garnish
- generous toasted sesame seeds (optional), to garnish
- lemon wedges, to serve
Marinade:
- 2.5 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp light corn syrup
- 1 tbsp mirin
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp onion powder (optional)
- 1 tbsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1/2 lemon
Instructions:
1. Remove the membrane on the back with paper towels. Cut the short ribs into individual ribs. Rinse under cold water. Pat dry with paper towels. Put them in a large mixing bowl.
2. In a small container, mix together soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, corn syrup, mirin, olive oil, minced garlic, and black pepper to taste.
3. Optionally, add the onion powder and garlic powder. Squeeze half of a lemon.
4. Pour the marinade over the ribs. Toss together making sure everything is well coated. Cover and marinate in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
5. Put them in the air fryer. Cook at 180℃ (355℉) for about 10 minutes. Turn them over and cook for another 10 minutes.
6. Sprinkle on some green onions and sesame seeds (if using). Serve with lemon wedges. Enjoy~!
NOTE:
- Depending on the size of your air fryer or the amount of ingredients, the cooking time can be slightly different, so make sure to check periodically and adjust the cooking time.
