What is Bingsu?
Bingsu(빙수) is a must-have Korean dessert in hot summer!
The bingsu we are going to have today is one of the Korean desserts, and the biggest feature is that it contains honeydew melon.
It looks so cute, doesn’t it?
What to eat
We ordered Strawberry cheesecake honeydew sulbing (딸기치즈메론설빙, ddalgi-chijue-meron-sulbing).
Obviously, It is not a traditional Korean dessert, but since it started in Korea, I want to call it a Korean dessert.
Where to eat
We are here Sulbing cafe 설빙 that serves Korean desserts. This Sulbing cafe is one of the biggest franchised chains in Korea, so you can find it easily!
Actually, we are not a big fan of dessert. However, it is too hot these days, so we were craving for this Bingsu(sulbing).
It is supposed to be the best dessert here, Sulbing Cafe.
You can slice this half of melon by yourself and that is the beauty of this bingsu. To eat this bingsu, we should cut the melon first and pour the condensed milk over it!
As you can see, it could not be NOT delicious but a bit expensive. ($13.50)
But I think it’s not too bad because it’s enough for two people!
I think it is a really unique dessert, if you like to take pictures of food or if you want to post a unique-looking dessert food on Instagram, this would be a perfect dessert in Korea.
This bingsu contains fresh melon on top and ice flakes inside. Under the ice flakes, there are strawberries and cheesecake. Moreover, there is yogurt ice cream in it.
According to the commercial picture of this dessert, there should be a bunch of strawberries if you slice the melon. However, I can’t see them 🙁
Where is the strawberry?
Unlike the commercial, strawberries are hidden under ice flakes.
No matter how delicious it is, I wish it looked a little similar to the picture they sell.
