Hello from Seoul! Do you guys like Korean Fire Noodles? It tastes really good, right? But by any chance, aren’t you tired of eating it in the same way? Today, let me show you 6 NEW WAYS TO ENJOY FIRE NOODLES. Alright, are you guys ready? Let’s get started!
KOREAN FIRE NOODLES
There are many kinds of fire noodles. However, today I will be using this original one. All the recipes that I will share today are for people who can’t handle spicy food, which means they are gonna be less spicy. (If you still want to feel that extreme spiciness, you can try these recipes with Nuclear Fire Noodles, which is the spiciest one. )
#1 PEANUT BUTTER FIRE NOODLES
Ingredients:
- 2.5 cups (600ml) water
- 1 pack Korean fire noodles (the original)
- 1 tbsp peanut butter
Instructions:
1. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the noodles in the boiling water and boil for 5 minutes. Drain the water, but leave about 8 spoons. (The instruction doesn’t say ‘teaspoon’ or ‘tablespoon’ because measuring spoons are not commonly used in Korea. I would say it’s somewhere between teaspoons and tablespoons. Just follow your heart. You will be fine! 🙂
2. Add the sauce and mix together. Cook for an additional 30 seconds over low heat. Add 1 tablespoon of peanut butter. Mix well. Place it on a serving plate. Finish with the flakes. Enjoy~!

#4 FIRE NOODLE RAMYUN PANCAKES
Ingredients:
- 2.5 cups (600ml) water
- 1 packet fire noodles (the original)
- 3 tbsp neutral-tasting oil, divided
- 1 egg
- 1-2 sliced green onions
- 1 string cheese
- 1 slice cheddar cheese
Instructions:
1. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the noodles and boil for 4 minutes. Drain the water completely and mix it with the sauce. Set aside.
2. There are 3 ways to cook it. You can try one of them depending on your preference.
#1 In a pan, heat the oil (1 tbsp) over medium heat. Once it’s heated, place the noodles and spread it out. Using a spatula, press it down a little bit. Cook until crispy on both sides. Be careful not to burn it!
#2 Do the same as number 1, but cook until both sides of the noodles are 80 % cooked. Pour 1 beaten egg over the pancake. Sprinkle with sliced green onions and put a lid on. Cook until the egg is cooked.
#3 Do the same as number 1. Put some cheese on it and fold it in half. Cook until the cheese is melted.
#5 COLD FIRE NOODLES
Ingredients:
- 1-2 green cabbage leaves
- 1-2 lettuce leave
- 1/3 cucumber
- 1/3 carrot
- 2.5 cups (600ml) water
- 1 packet fire noodles (the original)
- 1 boiled egg, to serve
Sauce:
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 1 tbsp mirin
- 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
- 1 fire sauce
Instructions:
1. Thinly slice the cabbage and lettuce leaves. Cut the cucumber and carrot into thin matchsticks.
2. Bring a pot of water to a boil. Add the noodles and boil for 5 minutes. Take out the noodles and put them in some cold water (or ice water).
3. Meanwhile, make the sauce. In a small container, mix together the sugar, vinegar, mirin, sesame oil and the fire sauce.
4. Once the noodles are completely cooled, place it nicely in a serving bowl. Top with the vegetables and the boiled egg. Sprinkle with the flakes. Serve it with the sauce. (Since it’s too spicy, I recommend pouring only half of the sauce or less depending on your taste.) Enjoy!
