Today, Claire and I made a quick stop at an outlet, and guess what? We found one of our favorite all-you-can-eat Tteokbokki (spicy Korean rice cakes) restaurants here. Just like a sparrow can’t pass by a mill, it’s impossible to pass by without trying, right? So today, we’ll share you how to enjoy this restaurant with our tips.
ALL YOU CAN EAT TTEOKBOKKI
The name of this restaurant is Dooki (두끼). It’s a franchise restaurant, so you can easily search on the map for the one closest to your location. (The prices of other branches and the ingredients prepared are all the same, so you don’t have to worry about it.)

#1 Bring Ingredients
Once you’re seated, you’ll find some bowls for the ingredients and the sauce. The staff will pour some broth into your pot, but that’s not enough. If you want to make it even better, make a dash to the station, scoop up some of the fish cake soup, and add it to the pot. (Don’t forget to grab some skewered fish cakes, too. They will be an incredible appetizer.)

While waiting for the broth to boil, go to the station and pick up some ingredients. You can put whatever you want, but remember! The most important thing you should bring is green onions, because as always, more green onions, more delicious!
Besides green onions, we’ve got some long & cheese-filled rice cakes, cabbage, fish cakes, instant ramyun noodles, fried dumplings, fried seaweed rolls, and sweet potato fries from the station.

Now, let’s make the sauce. There are many sauce options here, and the number of chili peppers shows the level of spiciness. (Even if you’re good at eating spicy food, I hope you don’t try the one with five chili peppers.)
Anyway, my recommendation is to take one scoop of the Dookki Sauce (두끼소스) and 1.5 scoops of the Tteokmo Sauce (떡모소스). That should be enough to give you a decent spice challenge.

#2 Make Your Own Tteokbokki
Add the green onions, cabbage, and fish cakes to the broth and bring it to a boil. Once the broth starts boiling vigorously, add the sauce. Cook for about 3 minutes.
Once the broth starts boiling again, add the rice cakes. Cook for a few minutes and while that’s going, don’t forget to bring a drink from the station. Remember, this is an all-you-can-eat buffet. Beverages, coffee, and even ice cream are all included in the price, so make sure to bring them all and make your money’s worth.

Once the rice cakes soften up a little bit, add the ramyun noodles in. There’s a huge difference between Tteokbokki broth with and without ramyun noodles, and I definitely prefer the broth with ramen in it. It’s not just about the flavor of the broth. Slurping these noodles doused in this broth is truly amazing, so if you’ve never tried it before, make sure to add them in. Trust me, you will be so surprised!

Once the rice cakes soften and the noodles are cooked, you can start eating. Dip some fries into this fantastic sauce. You’ll see the magic: Everything becomes tastier with this Tteokbokki sauce.

#3 Make Fried Rice
We had so much stuff here, but this is not the end. The real highlight of this place is that you can make your own fried rice. So bring some rice, kimchi, dried seaweed, corn, some sesame oil, and make some fried rice with the remaining Tteokbokki sauce.

And if you’re making fried rice like us, don’t forget to order some cheese. Seriously, is there anything that doesn’t taste better with cheese?

Overall, this is a good place to enjoy Tteokbokki, ramyun, fried rice, Korean fries, and even ice cream and coffee at an affordable price. Is there any reason not to visit here? I don’t think so. If you are in Korea, I strongly recommend stopping by this restaurant. Trust me, you will love this place.
