Last time, I bought a lot of dumplings for “How to Cook Frozen Dumplings Video”. I still have a lot and I’m pretty sure you guys still have some, too! So, today, let me show you 6 Ways to Enjoy Frozen Dumplings. Alright, are you guys ready? Let’s get started!
#1 FRIED DUMPLINGS with EXTRA CRISPINESS
Ingredients:
- 50ml water
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp neutral-tasting oil
- 6 frozen dumplings
- 1 sliced green onion (or garlic chives), to garnish
Instructions:
1. In a container, stir together 50ml of water and 1 tablespoon flour. Set aside.
2. In a pan, add the oil. Place the frozen dumplings onto the pan, trying to coat the bottom of the dumplings with oil. Turn on the heat to medium heat and fry it for a few minutes.
3. Once you can hear the sizzle, add in the flour mixture around the dumplings and sprinkle on sliced green onion. Cover with a lid. Cook until most of liquid has evaporated. Enjoy!
#2 MINI DUMPLING LASAGNA
Ingredients:
- Olive oil, to coat
- 1 cup tomato sauce, plus more if needed
- 9-10 thawed dumplings
- 1/2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- Parsley flakes (optional), to garnish
Instructions:
1. Take out a microwavable container. Coat the inside with olive oil.
2. Pour in some tomato sauce. Cut some dumpling with scissors and place them on top. Add more tomato sauce and minced garlic. Sprinkle on some mozzarella cheese.
3. Repeat with the rest of the ingredients. Add more dumplings, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. Microwave it for 5 minutes or until the cheese is completely melted. Finish with parsley flakes (if using). Enjoy!
#3 DUMPLING TANGSUYUK
Ingredients:
- 1/3 carrot
- 1/4 yellow onion
- High-heat oil, for frying
- 15 small-sized frozen dumplings
Sauce:
- 6 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp white vinegar
- 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 150ml water
Slurry:
- 1 tbsp potato starch (or cornstarch)
- 1 tbsp water
Instructions:
1. Cut the carrot and onion into bite-sized pieces.
2. Make the slurry. In a small bowl, mix together the potato starch and water. Set aside.
3. In a wok (or pot), add enough oil and frozen dumplings. Turn on the heat to medium heat. Fry until crispy golden brown and cooked through.
4. While the dumplings are deep-fried, make the sauce. In another pan, combine the sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, ketchup, and water. Bring it to a boil. Once the sauce is boiling, add the carrot and onion. Once it begins to bubble up again, add the slurry and stir until the sauce is thickened.
5. Add the fried dumplings into the sauce. Toss together until dumplings are nicely coated. Enjoy!
#4 DUMPLING with RICE
Ingredients:
- 1/4 yellow onion
- 1 green onion
- 4 thawed dumplings, divided
- 1 tbsp neutral-tasting oil, plus more if needed
- 1 beaten egg
- 1 cup (210g) hot cooked rice
Sauce:
Instructions:
1. Thinly slice the onion and green onion.
2. Wet the dumplings with a splash of water. Put them in a mixing bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and defrost in a microwave for 1 minute.
3. Make the sauce. In a small container, mix together the sugar, soy sauce, mirin, and water.
4. In a pan, heat the oil (1 tbsp) over medium-high heat. Once it gets nice and hot, add the onion and 1 mashed dumpling. Stir-fry it for 1 to 2 minutes.
5. Reduce the heat to medium-low heat. Add the rest of the dumplings and the sauce. Bring it to a boil. Once it starts to boil, add the beaten egg and green onion. Cover with a lid. Cook until the egg has reached your desired level of doneness.
6. To serve, put some rice in a serving bowl. Slide everything over the rice. Enjoy!
#5 GOLDEN FRIED RICE
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (210g) cooked rice
- 2 eggs
- 2 thawed dumplings
- 1 green onion
- 1 tbsp neutral-tasting oil
- 1 tsp oyster sauce (or concentrated chicken stock, soy sauce)
- Teriyaki sauce or ketchup (optional), to drizzle
Instructions:
1. In a mixing bowl, add cooked rice and 2 egg yolks. Mix well.
2. Using scissors, cut the dumplings into small bite-sized pieces.
3. In a wok (or pan), heat the oil (1 tbsp) over medium-high heat. Once it’s heated, add the green onion. Saute for 1 minute or until fragrant. Add the dumplings and stir-fry them.
4. Add the rice and oyster sauce. Stir-fry it until everything is evenly coated. Transfer to a serving plate. Optionally, drizzle with teriyaki sauce or ketchup. Enjoy!
#6 BIBIM MANDU
Ingredients:
- High-heat oil, for frying
- 13 small-sized frozen dumplings
- 1 cup green cabbage
- 1/4 yellow onion
- 1/3 carrot
Sauce:
- 2 tbsp Korean chili paste (gochujang)
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp Korean chili pepper flakes (gochugaru)
- 2 tbsp white vinegar
Instructions:
1. In a wok (or pot), add enough oil and dumplings. Turn on the heat to medium heat. Fry until crispy golden brown and cooked through.
2. While the dumplings are deep-fried, thinly slice the cabbage and onion. Cut the carrot into thin matchsticks. Put them in a mixing bowl.
3. Make the sauce. In a small container, mix together the Korean chili paste, sugar, Korean chili pepper flakes, and vinegar.
4. Depending on how spicy you want it, add some sauce to the vegetables. Toss together. (Don’t pour it at all once.)
5. Nicely arrange the fried dumplings and vegetables on a serving plate. Enjoy!
